About the Manitoba Ombudsman's Office

Manitoba Ombudsman is an independent office of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba. The office is responsible for upholding the access to information and protection of privacy rights under The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and The Personal Health Information Act (PHIA). The office investigates complaints from the public, conducts audits and promotes compliance with the Acts by providing education sessions and Practice Notes for public bodies and trustees subject to the Acts.
